I think they did a lot for me: started sleeping better, started losing weight, etc. However, I can't get my favourite anymore because they've started adding vitamins and minerals to it, and I don't like that. I like to take all vits and minerals seperately, to get the dose I want. Which one do you take?
Ah, yes, I should imagine they are the most popular in Britain, but I'm in France. The French don't go in for 'natural' stuff, they prefer synthetic and are very ready to hand out hydorcortisone. But I picked up a tip from and American site and got myself some Nutir-meds whole adrenal. It worked very well, but as I say, they've now messed with the formula so I don't buy it anymore and have gone back to the HC.
I haven't tried Nutri Adrenal. I tried Nutri Thyroid and that made me ill, so I was put off trying the Adrenal.
Ah, really? I didn't know that about Nutri extra. I suppose that's why it's extra, then! lol
The thing about HC is that you have to be careful when you take it. Above all not to take it after mid-day. I take mine when I get up, which is usually before mid-day! lol
It was first prescribed for me by the top French thyroid doc in Paris. He uses it himself, so I trusted him.
However, due to the bad publicity it gets, I foolishly took myself off it too soon. Now, I have had to put myself back on it again! If only I'd stuck with it the first time. Sigh.
I haven't had any side effects from it, except swollen legs. But I've found I can counter-act that by adding extra salt to my diet. Is it working? I think so. We'll just have to wait and see!
You think it's working?! So I take it you're still unwell then?
Dr P said I shouldn't take it. He only considers it when serious cases of adrenal fatigue. A lot of people say it causes more problems in the long run. Dr Wilson days do t use it! I'm only going on what I've read..... And seen on here.
It's a longgggg roAd to recovery with this isn't it..... If at all there's a recovery at the end of it :0/
Oh, yes, I would consider myself still unwell. It's not so much the aches and pains that I used to have, it's more to do with stamina and energy. I haven't got any. I can't walk for more than a few yards without being completely out of breath and my spine feeling as if it's about to collapse in on itself. And I can't stand for more than a few minutes because my legs start to give way.
And I still get a bit depressed from time to time and a feeling as if I've got stuck in time. I can't move on. I've got a ton of things that I want to do and I have to do but I can't do them. Can't even think about them. I call it hypocrastination. I look at the mess that needs clearing up - both physically and metaphysically! - and just walk out of the room and close the door. I'll do it tomorrow. But I know I won't...
OK, so how has it helped? Well, as I said before, I started to lose weight on the adrenal cortex/whole adrenal (have taken both) and that weight lose has continued with the HC but more slowly. My knee pain has disappeared. My hair (I think) has started growing again. I sleep better - don't have to get up so often for a pee. There was a time when I had to get up every hour, on the hour! Not much time for sleeping !!! But for the past few nights I haven't got up at all. I've been surprised to wake up and find it's eight in the morning! lol
Oh, lots of little things that you don't really notice until someone mentions it. Tinitus is better, so is the skin.
But, you know, one of the signs that the adrenals are flagging is the jump factor, if someone bangs a door or the telephone rings, you nearly jump out of your skin! I don't jump when the telephone rings anymore. I still can't watch horror films. lol But then, perhaps I don't really want to. Can't watch films full of suspense, either. But I always did prefer a love story, anyway. lol
See I don't get any of this stimulatery affects, even on quite a few Nutri adrenals a day! I got a regular pulse but low temps..... No stimulation.
This bug is still with me! I was really quite ill over the weekend. In bed all day Saturday. I'm sure it was adrenal related though. Dizzy on standing and achy body, mostly lower back. God knows why! The virus is slowly going though, I feel.
Ummm... you've lost me there. Did I say I got any stimulation? Don't think I did. I said I was jumpy BEFORE I started taking the adrenal treatment, now I'm calmer. Or have I missed something...
Actually, I am feeling better, thank you. Which is weird because on Friday, still feeling groggy from the flu, I went down with what I thought was quite a violent stomach bug and I had a rough 48 hours! But on Sunday morning I woke feeling much better than I had since Christmas! Who knows.
