my neck feels quite tender on both sides of my thyroid. I have recently had serious weight gain, depression and shifting from diarrhea to constipation and back again. Doctor done some basic blood tests but I want more testing, what do I want to ask for and will the NHS do it?

tender sides on neck
hiya I have had neck ache and cramps now for ages but I also have bad headaches. My gp sent me to eye specialist and I have had a brain scan (all normal thank god) but I've been referred to a neurologist who says I have chronic acute tension headache and he has also suggested I lose weight. I have lost 2lbs and already I feel much better. I'm happy and not tired as much but the neck cramps have got worse but I'm not allowed any pain killers till I see him again x

Hi
I have a problem with headaches, and muscle problems especially at the back of the neck and shoulders with aching sensations in all parts of my body feeling very tired, however my levels are normal, but have multinodular goitres but because of saliva glands dysfunction severe refused radiodine as the uptake enters the glands first, so I am on watchful waiting. I have now noticed a change in my neck with texture and shape making swallowing more difficult. I contacted the Endro and was sent for an ultra sound, all I could get out of the sonographer was a little change and when do you see your specialist. My watchfull waiting was once a year, and last ultra sound 3 months ago. I had a cyst from the thyroid removed about 20 years ago so have lesions and an operation is risky I am told 1 being my saliva glands and 2% tracheotomy. So on with whatever choke if it grows bigger.
best wishes Helen
