Has anyone heard of or has info on Thyroid Exha... - Thyroid UK
Has anyone heard of or has info on Thyroid Exhaustion - diagnosed by endo today. Thanks xx
Hypothyroidism?
If you can give more information, we might be able to help. Thyroid exhaustion, as Issy suggests, could be hypothyroidism, i.e. thyroid unable to produce sufficient hormones. Or it could mean that *you* are exhausted due to thyroid disfunction.
Without some supporting information, we can only make guesses. What were your thyroid blood test results? Are you on any thyroid medication?
Hi As said we need more info. Usually endo`s say this for worn out ie Hypo. They think that they are explaining it simply, patronising!
Best wishes,
Jackie
Hi,
Many thanks for your replies and sorry for lack of information.
The endo meant that my thyroid itself was exhausted (although I am also!). I do not have any results but will ask for them. I heard the endo talking to the blood labs and she repeated one result had dropped from 6 to 1 - but I am not sure what the result was for.
I am having a pituitary stress test this Saturday as the endo thinks my problems stem from here. She is also checking B12 and suspects I have coeliac disease.
I have been told I have severely low Vitamin D, low protein and low potassium and hormone abnormalities.
I will add the thyroid results as I get them.
So this sounds like Hypo?
Many Thanks xx
Shaws, Many thanks for that - my brain is like fog at the moment so I will write it down and take to the hospital with me.
