I was diagnosed at birth with hypo I would like to try T3 but don't know where to get it. my endocronologist was hopeless. put my symptoms down to "depression" which I knew he would, such a cop out.
where do I get access to T3: I was diagnosed at... - Thyroid UK
where do I get access to T3
Hi Rosie,
How frustrating for you. It seems that not all Endocrinologists will prescribe T3. The choices are - finding another Endocrinologist who will, paying privately to see a doctor.
thanks suze, but how do I find an endo, who will be sympathetic to my needs....I agree that the nhs seems to be geared up not to deal with symptoms only wretched blood results.....are you familiar with the thought that low body temperature is responsible for many problems, as suggested by Dr Denis Wilson.
yes Rosie, low body temperature is a symptom stated in many books but I don't know about it being the cause.
On here people are gradually writing about their experience in the hospitals that they have attended so hopefully we will be able to see which are the best ones to go to, as you can go to any hospital now with the choose and book system, as long as your GP refers you.
Which area do you live in? some of us may be able to point you in the right direction.
Hi Rosie, Try looking on Mary Shomon's website. She has a top doc section and I believe some UK people use it to list docs who are helpful.
We are hoping that our comparison of hospital option will eventually show us which hospital endocrinology departments are prescribing T3 etc. but this may take some time before we have enough data.
