As I was just becoming worse and worse and worse and worse, I have asked my friend to go and visit Dr S on my behalf. I am in a Zombie like state, hardly can move and my temperature is so low.
I had some questions for dr S plus I had bad reaction to Armour so I wasn't taking any medications. I have received prescription for Erfa ( I chose this because it has little amount of fillers) and started to take it yesterday.
I took only 1/8 of a grain ( just to be on the safe side), I had some dizziness and weird sensation in my head but nothing serious really.
After four hours I had some proper energy crash, but I am not sure if this was related to Erfa or my general body weakness.
I took another 1/8 today and I did not feel any sensation in my head at all, not problem with stomach that I could link to Erfa either.
The thing that is worrying for me is that my temperature is dropping - I used to be 35.9C on waking than it used to raise through the day to 36.1C - 36.4C(only sometimes and very late evening) However recently I have released that it drops to 34.5 C, 34.8 C! Scary.
I had yet another throat infection for the last weak. I have gynecological problems ( chronic pain in my right lower abdomen) which cannot be resolved right now because my GP is not helping me. I am looking for good gynecologist ( but this is another story)
I am just hoping that the temperature drop is due to me being so run down not due to Erfa ( as it was minimal dose).
I am so exhausted and I just waiting for something good to happen.
My iron is low as it was I suppose. I cannot find supplement that I can tolerate.. and I know that low iron is not going to help..I am not sure if I should buy Nutri Adrenal or not.
Dr S thinks that Adrenals will regulate themselves along with thyroid hormones supplementation. My adrenals must be exhausted after what I have been through, however i did not test my cortisol levels at all. I do not know how accurate/reliable are saliva test from Genova? ( or maybe somebody is using other private laboratory??, I do not know)
My sex hormones are really messed up. Probably PCOS or maybe thyroid is causing them to be so out of range.
It is just me, the internet research and this illness.
I am sorry you have had problems with the meds and am glad that you have had a better reaction to Erfa and, hopefully, as you increase gradually it will be the meds for you.
I am not medically qualified but if you are able to get your thyroid problems under control, it might benefit a lot of the other conditions you have, PCOS being one of them.
My morning temp is 36 but I feel fine and also warm. Dr Peatfield has said that sometimes your temp doesn't come back to normal.
Hi Shaws
Thank You for your reply. I am trying to have hope and I really wish Erfa to help me. I am just worried about the temperature. Right now is 35.3C. If that's not the Erfa that is causing it then it's OK. It should get better with time.
I also hope that the sex hormone imbalances will clear with the right dose of thyroid meds. SHBG tends to be lower in hypothyroid patients, and it has been found that administration of thyroxine and T3 can increase the levels. Hopefully this will be my case.
I am concerned if I am having adrenals crash, maybe my adrenals cannot handle even tiny amount of thyroid hormones.
I am not sure.
Wish you good health and stay warm.
xx
The adrenal test from Genova is reliable and it's easy to use. My body temperature goes down to around 35.8 at night and I am almost well, but it took a long time. I am still taking a glandular for my adrenals. You may find in the end that your body temperature will always be low, but you will feel warm enough as Shaws says. I do, although I used to feel like ice. Try and stick with the Erfa and see if your symptoms start to improve.
Thank you for your reply Chillyfeet.I wll definitely stay with erfa unless it will make me really ill. Hope not
Sorry to have been rather quiet for a while, the increase in my thyroxine has led to mixed results and I have been alternating between having energy and total exhaustion coupled with rapid heartbeat. Going to bed really early every day!
I am hopeful for you that the Erfa will start to help you. I detect a tiny change in your outlook - wanting to feel better rather than wanting to give up - it may be tiny but anything is better than nothing.
I have a friend who has Cushing's syndrome since she had a pituitary tumour and she has adrenal crises as a result, it is not pleasant and she often has to go to A&E. When you have so many different conditions it is very hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am glad you are still on this site as it may not be ideal but at least there is some contact with others even though it has its limitations.
I hope things can begin to get a little easier for you, as it must be really hard to stay positive. With the thyroid it can be a slow process, but perseverance can pay off in the end.
