I was wondering what this 'green prescription' was when someone mentioned it in a previous post in connection to obtaining dessicated thyroid treatment. Does one's exemption still apply?

Yes, if NDT is prescribed on a usual NHS prescription then it is covered by the exemption.

I have had my NDT's on a green prescription (nhs prescription) for over 7 years, when in May 10 my gp said the PCT won't fund it. I have applied for funding which was refused, appealed, that was refused also, so I am now paying for it. This costs £30 per month, so my exemption certificate is rendered useless in terms of my thyroid medication.
