Hi Morena

I can't comment on how easy it may be (or not), I can give you some information about how:

I would say it is quite unusual to ge an NHS endo or GP to prescribe (but not impossible). Some private doctors will prescribe but you need to do your research first.

I managed to persuade my private endo into prescribing it for me and as the results were so good my endo wrote a very positive letter to my GP who is now prescribing it for me on the NHS :) xx

Clarebear; thank you; did you have to prove that the levothyroxine wasnt working for you first??

Well my blood tests showed that Levo increased my T4 a lot but not my T3 - I think this may have helped. I managed to persuade my endo into supervising a trial and it went from there :) x

My GP prescribes Armour as I am unable to take either Levo or T3 but had to try those first. I think it may vary from PCT to PCT though.
