Is a tsh level of 2000 possible?: - Thyroid UK
Is a tsh level of 2000 possible?
Yes.
But some labs cannot (or do not) make do any further evaluation once it has reached 1000 - or even 100.
There are several possible reasons for it being quite so high.
Is that your test result?
I was told when I first had Thyroid problems, which later was diagnosed as Hahimotos thyroiditis,as having a Tsh level of 2000.This is back in 2002ish,since then I have lived and died through Encephalitis.I still have some problems but nothing like back then.Thank you so much for your prompt reply.
A while back I posted a blog which discussed some fairly extreme variation in TSH results.

Whilst that was only up to 200 or so, the same reason (macro-TSH) could be behind your test result. I have read that this is an areas where testing kits have improved over the years.
