I would like to take Levo at night but i take statins because my colesterol was high would they upset absorbsion?
It is quite common for people to have a higher cholesterol level before they are diagnosed with hypothyrodism.
When they get to an optimum level of medication the cholesterol should begin to reduce gradually.
You should allow at least four hours between taking levothyroxine and other medications.
I don't know how high your cholesterol level is but if you put Statins in the search box you will see some research articles relating to statins.
it was 9 i couldnt believe it !
Whoah! Statins.... you sure they are a good idea? They are contra indicated if you are hypothyroid..... here is why:

I'm scared now don't think my gp knows anything I told him about foods that bind and he didn't know .I'm not happy read a book about statins and threw them in bin but I work with strokes and don't want one !
When I was eventually diagnosed 6 years ago my cholesterol was 14.85 but it came down itself with the thyroxine to 4.6 in about 5 months.

Hi that is very high! It should improve on thyroid treatment but not that much! Make sure you have another cholesterol test 6 weeks after starting Statins, to check the dose Also first choice often is not the best choice for you. Have you been told about food? The most important way of atcually lowering it is oats and an apple every day. Flora special for heart and a few other things are also recommended. Also keep sodium ( salt) at the bottomish of range. I hope this helps, it will improve.

As has been mentioned if you are hypo you should not be taking statins.
