Zoe Hardwick diet

Has anyone/is anyone using this diet please? If so how successful is it for you? Having been to Slimmers World and put on 5 lbs (Lordy Lordy!!) I'm loathe to spend/start something else without discussion first. Looks good but critics mention joint aches (probably lack of caffeine??) but I can do without more of that!

Many thanks

Liz

I've never heard of this diet, and a quick google didn't help either. However, if it doesn't allow caffeine, you can count me out! It would take an awful lot to make me give up my coffee :D

Can you provide a link to some further info on this diet for people to take a look?

I think you should read the link provided by siskin below, and give up diets... Just my humble opinion...

I think it's Zoe Harcombe, not Hardwick.

I haven't looked at it much, but it appears to be an almost paleo (no grains except brown rice), low carb diet with food combining too (fat and carbs at different meals).

Too many rules for my liking.

However, I agree with a lot of her reasoning, which sort of summed up would be "everything processed is bad for you" including vegetable oils, refined sugar and high sugar products, and anything chemical.

Ah yes, that's who I was trying to think of. I knew I'd seen a Zoe 'something' diet mentioned here before.

Someone who knows plenty about thyroid disorders and talks a lot of sense about healthy eating is Chris Kresser. He has a very good website with masses of interesting and informative info on lots of things that thyroid patients can benefit from learning about. Heres a link to the first in a series of articles entitled '9 Steps To Perfect Health', which is essentially about food - what to eat and what not to eat.

Thanks Red Aplle -that is what i have found out -altough i have chosen to implement the food routine of Sandra Cabot ( I refuse to call it a diet as it is for life) approach to eating. She excludes all grains and margarines, processed food of any type (including those products we would regard as healthy), added sugar but not natural sugars contained in fruit nad honey and only specific types of dairy.

I feel better already. Although at the moment the plan is too losse this dreadful weight around my tummy area -I don't envisage ever being able to eat grains except in very small proportion again -reason? The liver finds them very hard to process the by products of grain -so stores it as fat -can't give you research as she only states it in her book but I wil when I get a chance to see if there has actually been any research on this. I do have to say though that my weight only went back on after i had allowed grains back into my diet......lesson learnt!
