Trigger point injections for myofascial pain.

I've been trying to have this treated for about six years, spending enough to have bought two cars in the process!

The pain clinic discharged me by letter, having done nothing, and I've been struggling for years. Would like to try TP injections, but a GP can't refer a patient to a consultant for a particular treatment, I suppose? How would I word my request?

This is a link to the archived website of Dr Lowe (who died last year) who was an expert in myofacial pain.

This is a link which I hope is a bit helpful for you.

There are other topics at the top of the page but some of the links may not be accessible.

I wish I knew your answer

I can only say I have been seeing a 'myofascial release/trigger point' therapist since last April and I am almost 100% pain free now. She is 'very' expensive hence why it is taking so long as I cannot see her as often as I needed, but it's still helping! I might have recovered quicker if I saw her more often but I am almost 100% pain free now I feel I am so near the solution :)

I can't help with the original poster's question but I'd love to know who you see for myofascial release and TP therapy please, nobodysdriving. If you're unable to name the peson or give details here please would you PM me? I've been getting deep tissue massage and energy work to release muscles but have often wondered if a proper trigger point therapist would help more.

Thank you.
