After been diagnosed 8 years ago I have been put on 8 different anti depressents and dizepane..My thyroid levels have been going up and down all the time but the doctors keep telling me it is anxiety and depression and not my thyroid. Just now I am tired and spacey and my voice has gone all weird. Help!!!!!!

diazepam---????
Hi Florrie
Thought I'd answer although I have no expertise!
It was nearly 8 years ago I went to docs with strange symptoms too, they gave me valium and antidepressants - luckily I didn't take them, (only 'cos I've seen folks go down that road).
There's lots of posts on here about thyroid levels - when did you last have a blood test? - OK even if they come back 'normal' post the results on here to confirm.
Yep I could sleep for England, am dippy too and also sound like Bonnie Tyler/Rod Stewart.
Best wishes Jane x
I can certainly identify with voice going weird. I use the telephone all day, every day, and people up and down the country were asking me if I had a cold/sore throat/something. I liked to think Barry White - but surely that was wishful thinking?
Since commencing thyroxine it have gone back almost to my normality. Luckily.
Diazepam does interfere with thyroxine - it competitively binds to the same proteins in the blood. So that alone can make your thyroid blood test result vary a bit.
And rmember that Rod Stewart had thyroid cancer...
