Just wondering why you want Tirosint?

Tirosint is just levothyroxine sodium in a gel capsule (contains gelatine, glycerine and water).

We do have a similar option - Evotrox - levothyroxine in glycerol supplied as a liquid. This is available right now - depending on your GP agreeing to prescribe it.

And if Tirosint is specifically important, it can be imported from the US.

All the best

Not quite - they have different fillers - which were identified in my first answer. I sincerely doubt that there would be any advantage to your taking Tirosint over Evotrox - so it maybe easier to ask for what is actually available in this country?

Although it would have to be imported, Levoxyl is different to all other levothyroxine medicines in having a totally different filler (croscarmellose) which some find acceptable. They are one of the few that are lactose-free and in the 50mcg dose they do not have any colours either. (US levothryoxine products are very often coloured in tablet sizes other than 50mcg and many people blame the colourants for some of their problems.)

Both Tirosint and Evotrox work out to be expensive so may not be popular options with your prescribers. But I am pretty sure that a short trial of Evotrox would be considerably cheaper for them.

I do hope you find something that helps.

I've mentioned Candida overgrowth in your other Q about tingling hands etc. If there's the slightest chance that candida could be your problem, then best not to try Tirosint, Evotrox or any other thyroid meds that contain glycerin as this will encourage the candida.

It says on the web site that your thyriod functions would be normal with Candida as im on thyriod meds mine need contoling so do you still think it can be this ??
