is this another symptom?

Our son has now developed horizontal ridges on his toe nails and the nails are a funny colour, could this be another symptom and if so does anyone know why it happems? Do I have to notify the G.P or can it wait for paediatrician?

Horizontal ridges are probably Beau's lines:

They can be a sign of many problems - this is a brief summary:

Sorry only to send links, but I don't really know anything myself, hopefully the links will give you a start on finding the answers you need.

All the best

It's not long now till you see the paediatrician and GOS...it is almost Oct, cos I am waiting for an appt the.

Are you managing to keep the diary? Have you heard anymore from EWO?8

Are you managing to get him to do the school work? I know it must be hard but it will keep him engaged in learning...never easy...but he is so young he has another 6 yrs or so in the Education system, assessments and such to complete one way or another. I know someone suggested homeschooling...would think that is hard enough with a healthy child, even as an experienced teacher I wouldn't relish delivering the whole curriculum at Secondary level...cos you still have Ofsted checking those kids get the entitlement they would have at school

I do feel for you in your situation and hope you start getting some answers soon.

Thankyou Bunny, yes I am keeping the diary and I am so pleased I have. We have a care plan meeting in school tomorrow morning so we will see what they offer. We now have our paediatricians appt for the 5th Oct and they have said it will take 1 1/2 hours which is something, more than he's had before and G.O.S.H whom I have phoned and they have assured me he will be seeing a doctor and not a technician and so we are hopeful. I think Jack needs to be in school even if it's part-time, he isn't very easy to motivate and I know he will just sleep at home. At least in school it is another set of eyes and ears and so more proof. I feel guilty sending him but I don't know what else I can do?
