That's an interesting question and I suppose it depends very much on where you live. I asked my surgery about this last year and the answer I got was no, so I paid for mine elsewhere. They always say at my surgery, people over 65, diabetics, anyone else at risk, get the jab first then when they have all been done, you can book one, but to be honest it takes so long that it gets well in to November and I would rather get it done earlier. In previous years you could just book it at the surgery and get it done but they have obviously changed their policy. I live in the North West of England by the way.

mmm interesting......you'd think we would because I do seem to have a low immune system and have always put this down to my underactive thyroid. If someone sneezes in the next street i get it. I've had a couple of bouts of really awful bronchitus in the last couple of years and it took months to get over it. I'm due my thyroid blood tests next week so I will ask then. Thanks for your answer by the way. I am also in the northwest but cheshire.

Hi Just been to the doctors this morning. He told me I was eligible for the flu jab, which I then had. He stated because of my immune system I haven't a thyroid now, I live in Cheshire-interesting!

Hi Louby......My surgery rang me last year offering the flu jab....they have a quota to fill apparently...something to do with payment!! I declined as I still want the immune response in my gut to get working. I supplement with 3000units vit C, 2000units vitD, beta glucans and a Good multivimin. I also find that garlic, oregano oil, olive leaf extract + a reputable collidal silver are excellent antivirals. That helps me, but everyone is different and needs to do their own research......I just don't want the added extras that are put into flu jabs in my body!!!!!!
