Are there any papers explaining that when you take liothyonine (T3) the TSH will be lowered or suppressed so that the TSH on it's own is no longer a reliable indicator of euthyroid status, because HPT axis is moot? I cannot seem to find any and like a fool, I walked into a situation (twice in one week!) where I have had to have a spontaneous blood test. Today might be worse, since I took T3 both yesterday evening and this morning, have not fasted and had to have blood drawn in the afternoon. Not conditions under which I would normally take a test.
The consultant/GP will probably have concerns at the results, but I'm not worried about that, I'm worried that all treatment options for my other illnesses may be withdrawn because my symptoms may be wrongfully attributed to a suppressed TSH (despite the fact that I was essentially a dead dog on mono-therapy and had all the same symptoms and if anything that period of mono only resulted in the side effects I still have to deal with now) and 'hyperthyroidism' or hyperactivity when I am not.
Anything I can point to explain that results are as expected would be helpful. I can't seem to find it, although I thought it was here.
