lost results

just to update the lab has in fact lost my results (only received TSH no T4 for Graves’ disease) I’m now waiting for a new form so I can make another appointment to be stabbed again 🙄 although I’m pretty confident that I’m now hyper again following cessation of Carbimazole 😞😖

Another stressful wait …

I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope you don’t have to wait long for a new blood draw 🤞

Argh how frustrating. How are your symptoms? Are you able to manage while you wait for results? Surely they will help based on symptoms alone no? Pulse and temperature etc would rise 🤷🏽‍♀️

Yes very but I guess this sort of thing happens 😖 I kinda don’t have any yet, ie no tremors, weight loss, appetite was a major one for me and that’s certainly not gone up - I get paranoid when I’m hungry at all now 😕hence I can’t monitor anything … I get very obsessive over things like that so no longer allowed to wear Fitbit, take bp or weigh myself, or I obsess over it to the extreme so I’m going on am I more hungry? No. Is my hair falling out? Not at all in comparison. Do I get cramps in hands thighs and calves? No. Do I feel like I’m being strangled? This one is weird because I have a sore throat and I keep thinking this is thyroid but not 100% because I’m genuinely congested too so could have a big 🤷‍♀️ but I think it’s my thyroid being a d!ck 😭

I can manage and I have some meds here ready to go but I need the results so I know what I’m looking at 😕😖😭😡😆 just frustrating not knowing as don’t want to slip back to square one ideally

I hear you, health anxiety seems to come with territory, I have the sore throat thing too if I’m having a Hashi swing.

Would you consider testing privately? I find Medichecks while not the cheapest are the fastest, with the easiest to read report. I tick the ‘don’t need a doctor to look at it’ box on the form and get results in a few days.

I can’t do the medichecks thing as I don’t bleed 🤣 tried a number of times 😕

That’s the thing and why I think I’m hyper - I’ll be ok I think until I get the blood form if not I’ll go to gp surgery and demand one 🤣

Hey there again :

What was this most recent TSH reading ?

Hiya

That one on 12.03.25 range (0.27-4.5) TSH 0.38

Ok - so you re in the range - and likely why T3 and T4 were not run :

I really do think full blood tests should be run when the patient is with a diagnosis and part way through a new treatment regime.

They ran them but lab lost then 🤬 it was on the blood form for TSH and T4 (they don’t do T3 as standard - only when I have a tantrum, which I reserve for special occasions 🤣) … just wish I had that T4 then I could have made a decision- but can’t until I get that and now waiting on the damn blood form to come through 😭 … just need to be patient I guess 😞

Yes- it's all a bit of a waiting game - and a testing time in many ways - take good care :
