Cortisol Saliva Test - Which one?

Hi,

I'd like to get my next cortisol saliva test done. Last one was CNS Labs in November, 4 point + DHEA. 10 day turnaround time.

I've seen medichecks and Blue Horizon do a 4 point test with a 2 day turnaround time. Medichecks is a chewable swab test.

Shall I stick with CNS, or go with Medichecks or BH as the tests return the results quicker?

Kr

Joe

Thank you, not everyone is in a position to respond and there is probably other people on the forum in more need of advice than me 😊

Oh no please don’t think that, every conversation is valuable on so many levels. Those reading and not replying learn loads too.

Do you have an Addisons diagnosis?

I don't, just adrenal fatigue/low cortisol from a saliva test last November. I've been trying Paul Robinsons CT3M method (12.5mcg @ 0300hrs) and 0.5mls of LDN since then.

I want to see if it's bought my cortisol up since November. I've ordered a saliva test from CNS labs now, should be able to do it next week.

How about symptoms, any noticed improvements following that CT3M method?

I struggled with PEM in the early days of my diagnosis, fatigue is a real ‘tell’ for me. It’s when I know I need to look at levels and life and take stock. Tiny steps 🤞

I ordered a 24 h saliva test from Regenerus Labs in 2022 and was very happy with their service. I received the detailed report after one week. I am happy I did it because a functional doctor had diagnosed me with adrenal fatigue and prescribed hydrocortisone, but the report from Regenerus showed I had high cortisol, not low.

Wow, that was a good shout. I can't imagine what high cortisol + hydrocortisone would do to something!

I've used regenerous before, but they are more expensive now.

CNS was £98 with discount

Yes, unfortunately, everything is more expensive now😡.

But I am very happy their report confirmed what I always suspected…that my symptoms such as a ruddy complexion, high blood pressure, insomnia, anxiety, weight gain, belly fat and insulin resistance were more likely symptoms of high rather than low cortisol. The functional doctor told me that, since I had been hypothyroid on levo for over 20 years, I ’had’ to have adrenal fatigue. Now, instead, I treated high cortisol, managed to lower it in about six months (retested), and I now feel good.

That's really good news, well done. I expect my next result to show low cortisol, hopefully I can take the next steps to improve it over the next couple of weeks

Posted CNS samples this Monday and had results on Wednesday.

This is including a phone call to check some info I had forgotten to put on the form and an email to clarify the results.

Maximum is 10 days but my experience was very quick

My last test was quicker than 10 days, but posted on Monday results on Wednesday is impressive.
