Results - what should I request?

I’ve just got my test results back:

TSH 3.1. (0.3 - 4.9)

FT3 4.02 (3.3 - 5.8) 29% thru range

FT4 12 (9 - 19) 30% thru range

So for the first time in my thyroid “journey” my FT3 and FT4 are “balanced”, but both lower that I’d like. I am doing not too bad but still big slumps nearly every afternoon so I need a nap most days. I have had a hoarse voice and achy legs over the last few weeks - always a sign to me that I’m too low. And my hair is like straw!

I am on 62.5mcg Levothyroxine and 5mcg Liothyronine.

Test done as per all advice - I split the Liothyronine so had 2.5 mcg 9 hours before the test. Levo 24 hours before.

I get Roma capsules so a bit annoying to split. I’m wondering if it’s worth asking whether it’s possible to get tablets and cut them to take 7.5mcg (5mcg in the morning, 2.5 in the afternoon/evening?). And/or increase Levo to 75mcg?

Thoughts welcome

Request next increase in Levo to 75mcg daily

This should improve both Ft4 and Ft3

Retest in 6-8 weeks

Likely to need further increases after this

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Thanks - I think my GP might agree to that.

It’s a while since I tested all other vitamins but I’m on B12 injections every other day along with folinic acid daily so no point in testing B12, recent folate test was above range so I have reduced it a bit. I also take high strength Vit D + K2, Vit C, Feroglobin and magnesium

I’ve come to the conclusion that my absorption of most things seems so poor that at the moment I need a lot of supplements. Other than the tiredness I’m generally feeling better than I have done in a really long time. Ultimately I do want to see if I can do something about stomach acid / enzymes / pre/pro biotics to help my absorption but am currently enjoying much better brain function and motivation. Always feel a bit nervous saying that as I don’t want to tempt fate!

If the GP starts being negative, ask for a "trial increase". They usually dont mind that and they forget it was a trial!
