Hi all- looking for any advice or experience on the above. I have been self medicating for several years via Thai NDT and have been well. However, it is becoming increasingly expensive and the payments are becoming more and more difficult to do, plus I am slightly uneasy being off-grid as it were, with this particularly as I get older. I also think when retire I may not be able to afford this anymore.
What I would like to do is try to get back under the NHS on T4/T3 combo and I do live in an area where T3 can be prescribed. Does anyone have any experience of this or know if I saw a private endo whether they are able to recommend this to an NHS GP? I coudn't afford to pay for Armour privately and possibly not T4/T3 either. Am I stuck where I am now?
Any info gratefully received.

Then go see an endocrinologist who is T3 friendly to discuss changing over to Levo plus T3
Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3
Ideally choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations so that might eventually transfer to getting T3 on NHS
Hi Slow Dragon - I am in Norfolk. We got the go ahead for T3 a couple of years ago I think but I believe it's still an issue trying to find an endo here who will prescribe. I'm fully expecting I'll have to travel for that which is fine.
I am in a similar position, possibly switching to T3/Levo, sometime in the future.. I will keep an eye on you to see how you get on. Good luck! (you will probably need it)
