Thyroid function post menopause

Just curious, does the dose of thyroxine/NDT often increase after menopause? I have actually been feeling cold & put on weight lately.

Obviously, the only way to truly now is to check my bloods again. Could someone remind me of the correct time to do the test please. I take 100mg Thyroxine and 1 grain NDT around 3.00 am.

Many thanks.

Many members report needing slightly more thyroid medication during the menopause. I would certainly retest thyroid levels and key vitamins before considering an increase.

Forum advice is to get the earliest possible time for a thyroid blood test & have only water prior to the test. Also ensure that last Levothyroxine dose is 24 hours before the blood draw.
