Quick question really. I have blood tests on MondayTomorrow 24 hours before is my last dose 75mg before bloods are re tested.

Due to some sideffects if I was to reduce my dose to 50mg tomorrow 24 hours before would that give a false reading? I'm thinking it wouldn't change the results as it's only one day before reducing dose. Or would it give an inaccurate reading considering I've been on 75mg 7 weeks

Thanks.

Its only 1 more day/ I'd recommend staying on current dose until the test and even until seeing the results.

How are you ddoing with vitamin testing and supplementing?

I've not paid for vits testing yet. I'm waiting until next test in 8 weeks also early in titration.

Vitamin tests are best run early on, otherwise you might experience 'side effects' which actually are due to the low vitamins making it difficult to tolerate thyroid hormones.

Changing dose now, before the test would alter results.

What vits should I test?

Ferritin, folate, B12 & D3.

GP can do these tests but if they wont then you will need to buy a private test, but will be worth it.

See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process).

Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo/T3 just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.
