Hi lovely people
I recently came across this ad for amino acid supplements, which promised to increase the absorbion of T3 in the cell.
What you all think? Is it worth it? What is the science behind it?
Thank you

The people promoting and selling these amino acid products are very effectively absorbing money.
Whatever the science, the pluses and minuses of them, I'd be extremely wary of the products and the vendors.
This is a search for previous mentions of amino acids:

haha! That made me laugh…
Thank you for the thread. I’ll have a proper read, but it sounds like the usual ‘buy this and you shall be cured…’ nonsense…
PixieElv,
True what helvella says but …..
I was previously practically veggie. After starting to eat a bit more meat, it definitely made my T3 meds work a lot better.
Science says we need these proteins to make the protein that transports T3 around the body and into the cells. In fact we need these amino acids for multiple indirect associations that will enhance how our thyroid meds (can) for us.
I do take a full amino but purely because I know my protein intake is on the low side, as for the other claims 😬😲
It doesn't actually state the quantities of each??
Oh interesting. Which supplements do you take? I’m practically vegan 😳
Plenty of protein sources if vegan especially beans... I can't tolerate them due to histamine 😕
I am about to do the ‘Linus Pauling’ cure for CHD. I hasten to add the Linus Pauling Institute do NOT give backing to his theory. Nothing has been proven in any actual research. He said it was so obviously effective he didn’t think it needed research to back it up!
Anyway it’s a cocktail of high Vit C, l-lysine (amino acid) and l-proline (amino acid). Amino acids are involved in ‘pathways’ for thyroid hormones. I have nothing to lose so giving it a go! Amino acids are also good for collagen. I think my connective tissue could benefit from this too. I have problems with that, leading to muscle problems I could also do without.
Curstesy of waveylines research.
Why not try Whey Protein, or Pea protein (if Vegan)? They're a more complete protein package with all of the Amino acids you need and derived from real food, rather than the cherry-picked ones in the these type of supplements, where absorption/interaction may be limited.
