This is not strictly a thyroid issue. In fact, not directly a thyroid issue at all.
We see a lot of members having issues with food. Intolerances they had never previously had. Inability to cope with foods they had been fine with for years. Tendency to recover from issues very much less well than once they did.
For these reasons, being aware of reported issues can change from our needing to know in the worst cases, to wanting to know about everything!
One that crops up a lot has been listeria. Something healthy (and non-pregnant) people usually manage without difficulty.
As well as choosing allergy issues - even by specific allergen.
The Food Standards Agency has made great strides. Where once you would be lucky ever to see any information, there is now a simple alerting system. You register, set your choice of which alerts you wish to see, and watch emails arrive. Ignore them - or act on them as you see fit. The impact of a few emails a week that are not relevant to you is probably minimal. The benefit of seeing one that matters could be huge.
And you don't have to rely on seeing a story buried in a newspaper by chance. Or happening to return to the same shop and seeing a tattered notice somewhere.
