At long last my wife’s GP has agreed to specify a brand of T3 for her. Thanks for all your help with this. The one that suits her best is Mercury Pharma but they are now saying that this is no longer available? Did I read its now made under another name or did I dream it?

There has long been confusion over their products.
Mercury Pharma is owned by Advanz Pharma. Sometimes it is necessary for the prescriber or pharmacy to search for Advanz Pharma even while the actual product says Mercury Pharma.,
Their levothyroxine tablets have long been supplied under two names. The generic product Mercury Pharma levothyroxine and the branded product Mercury Pharma Eltroxin. Identical tablets.
However, at times it has appeared that only the generic levothyroxine has been available, or only the branded Eltroxin. This availability issue has caused much confusion and it has never been clear what is or will be available.
Rumours that one or other, or both, products have disappeared have been circulating for many years. They have always ended up being either confusion about the two product names or temporary supply issues. So far.
