Anybody having any luck in getting this brand? It's that time to get my prescription and so far the pharmacies I've been in touch with in my town can't get hold of it or don't have it. It's very frustrating as this is the one I feel well on. I know a lot of people feel the same. Is there anything more I can do to get it then just asking pharmacies if they have it or if they can order it? It is written on my prescription. Thanks.
Mercury Pharma: Anybody having any luck in... - Thyroid UK
Mercury Pharma
Yes …just picked mine up today - I have to drive 10 miles to get to independent helpful pharmacy
Pharmacies often list Mercury Pharma brand under Advanz
Eltroxin is identical from Advanz
Are you asking Advanz, Mercury Pharma or Eltroxin
Mercury Pharma customer care phone number

Small independent pharmacies are frequently more flexible……like a pub that’s a Free House ….they can use different wholesalers
I'm also having problems obtaining MP T3. Could you say what other brands would be compatible?
Thank you.
again are you asking for Advanz …or only asking for Mercury Pharma
Morningside healthcare or Teva are alternatives for T3 tablets
How much T3 are you currently taking
Because of the difficulty in getting Mercury Pharma T3, I'm really looking for the nearest alternative. Every month my Pharmacy keep giving something else and yet it is on their system that I prefer MP.
I currently take 20mcg of T3, 75mcg of T4 and half a cap of Metavive.
Officially they are all interchangeable….
some people find Morningside healthcare T3 a bit stronger than MP …..others say it’s weaker
MP seems to loose it’s ummph the longer the pot is open
Morningside are blister packed.
Teva is lactose free
Do you split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses
Alternatively Roma capsules (lactose free) are available in 5mcg, 10mcg and 20mcg doses
You need to get your go to put AdvanzPharma on your prescription. It is distributed by Alliance. I was in touch with Mercury Pharma & they say there is no problem with supply. The problem is it’s more expensive than Teva or Morningside both if which may me really ill. When was started on my T3 Mercury Pharma was the only one licensed in the U.K. try speaking to the medicines management at you local health authority.
Good luck & Merry Christmas
Yes, I have some.....but first of all, despite it being written on my prescription, the pharmacy sent me Wockhardt. I called the pharmacy, explained I need MP only, as other brands make me ill and living on my own, I can't afford another fall. They told me they were unable to get MP..... well, several days later, and after my asking them to send my prescription through to Boots ( I'd checked Boots would be able to supply once they had the prescription) they have now got it, and thus so have I.
Mercury and Eltroxin are identical formulations of levothyroxine, with Advanz being the licence holder and manufacturer. Maybe all possible forms of branding should be mentioned on the prescription if this specific formulation. I am still getting Mercury from Boots.
I’m normally given Mercury but my last 2 prescriptions have been Wockhardt. I use Boots. I’ve not tried to get another brand as I’m sure they would have sent it if they had had it x
Hi, I’m the same, worked in a pharmacy for 21 years and they knew I always had Mercury pharma brand. I no longer work at the pharmacy and for the last 4-6 months have been receiving any old brand. Well, I’ve put a stone on and felt terrible. Couldn’t understand what was going on I suffer from a few other issues tbh. Finally got my GP to state brand on my script and I’m only now starting to feel a little better. So definitely yes, the brand makes a difference.
Hi, yes I totally agree the brand makes a difference yet they still try to tell us there is no difference! It's so annoying that we have to fight for our health and there seems to be so much misunderstanding of thyroid issues with doctors. Sorry you haven't been feeling well and glad your now picking up ☺️ hoping things get easier for us in the future.
