I want to inquire about my health condition because I went to a doctor before and he did not give me a specific explanation. I suffer from severe fatigue in my body even though I sleep more than nine hours and I wake up very tired despite that. I have constant dizziness and blurry vision, and my hair is falling out a lot. I have large dark circles under my eyes even though I tried to treat them repeatedly and they did not go away and I have itching all over my body. My body color is always yellow It is difficult for me to eat because I do not feel hungry and this has caused me to lose weight. I had a blood test last week and the doctor told me the result yesterday, but I did not understand what that meant and she said that I suffer from a deficiency in the thyroid hormone. I have a fever since one month and its not go. I want help with that, please, knowing that I have favism. 19 years old

Where are you (which country)? It can matter in terms of providing information, names of things, etc.
Did your doctor do blood tests? Did they give you the actual results (that is, numbers)?
Do you actually manage to avoid all the things that trigger your favism?
Yellow skin is often a sign of liver issues. I'd hope a doctor would have run some liver function tests.
And, having told you that you are hypothyroid, did your doctor prescribe anything?
I am from Oman.
Yes, the doctor did a blood test for me, but he gave me the results verbally.
I really try to avoid everything that trigger favism completely and I did.
My doctor did not run a liver function test unfortunately.
He did not prescribe anything for my hypothyroidism, but he told me that he would have another blood test on November 28th.
When you get your next test, can you get liver function tests added? And iron tests.
And do your best to get the actual results.
It really matters that you get the reference intervals, the ranges, for tests as these vary between labs and countries.
(It might help if you added Oman to your profile so that people can see easily without asking. )
Hello Cawaa and welcome to the forum :
Did the doctor give you a prescription - and you are to take a tablet - ?
Can you tell us what is written on the box of tablets - and how much are you to take a day ?
Do you live at home with a family - or live by yourself ?
Maybe you need to take someone with you to doctors appointments who can help you ask questions and understand better what has been discussed as to help you better we need more information.
Hello, thanks!
No he did not give me any tablet.
i live with my family, but no one can help.
He did not prescribe anything for my hypothyroidism, but he told me that he would have another blood test on November 28th.
OK then - maybe take someone with you next time so better placed to ask questions and support you -
Do you have access to your medical records - can you see anything saying :-
TSH and a number and a range of numbers alongside ?
I'm sorry but I can't see how I can help you better without knowing more.
Hi,
Would you be able to organise a private blood test in Oman? This is very common for patients in the UK. For a sensible amount of money you can take a finger prick blood sample and send the sample off for testing. Most tests will give an insight into other issues that can affect thyroid function including iron, B12, Vit D etc.
If you can get this done then post the results on here....
Good luck.
