Thanks so much.
can someone please check my thyroid test result... - Thyroid UK
can someone please check my thyroid test results please?
I have attached pictures of my vit d level and b12 levels too, thankyou
Vit D level didnt load.
Both B12 & folate are too low and will be causing you symptoms that supplementing will help with.
Are you vegan or vegetarian? If not:
B12 - do you have symptoms of B12 deficiency? The reference range for B12 is very wide and cut off point too low. theb12society.com/signs-and...
If you do then you should discuss this with your doctor for further tests for Pernicious Anaemia.
If not, then start with a methyl B12 sublingual spray or lozenge for a week, then add a good B complex. Once you run out of the separate B12 just continue with the B complex.

Folate - aim for a level of 20. Recommend taking an active/methyl (should say on label) B complex which contains 400mcgs folate (also B12).
B complex suggestions: Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:

Contains B6 as P5P an active form:

Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc

If you scroll further down I think the vit d level is attached now thankyou, I’m just going to have a good read of your comment now thankyou
Hi Alexreyamelia. It's a lot of info to take in. There are new NICE guidelines re B12 that only came out a few months ago....worth a nosey. It's best to get your b12 over the 500 level though the nhs won't recognise a level over 375 as deficient. Commonly B12, ferritin, folate and ferritin can drop with Hypothyroidism and what they call Subclinical Hypothyroidism. .
Your ft4 is in range but at the low end. The nhs won't treat you as having hypothyroidism unless your TSH is over 10 OR they may treat if your ft4 drops below range and your TSH is rising. So they should be repeat testing you every few month to track this.
Am sure your low ferritin, folate, with a lowish b12 and vit D would definately make you feel really poorly. So I would address these as Jaydee said above.
Be aware that PA is rare so your GP may test Intrinsic Factor blood test but this test misses over 50%.
Do Google b12d.org they have an excellant symptom checker which is worth filling in and printing out.
If you have any neurological symptoms your GP should take these seriously and treat b12 even if your blood tests show you are not deficient. Neurological symptoms are varied but often occur as numbness, tingling, loss of balance, tremors blurred or double vision, sensation of creepy crawlies on your skin.
Some b12d symptoms overlap with symptoms of hypothyroidism: Fatigue, poor memory, feeling cold, trouble processing information, weakness.
Potassium Selenium and magnesium are good cofactors for both b12 and thyroid. You can address this in your diet. Eg Brazil nuts (selenium and magnesium) bananas (potassium).
I think it's likely that if you address these you will feel better.
I dont have any medical training ....just walked the path of hypothyroidism and b12deficiency for many years.
Keep posting on here You will find lots of good support. 😊😊

Your FT4 is very low in range and likely FT3 also on the low side if the NHS would only test it.
What time of day was this test taken? TSH varies throughout the day and is highest at 9am or earlier.
Your levels were OK when you were taking Levo because you were taking Levo. I dont understand some doctors mentality!
Sometimes low vitamin levels can affect TSH.
When hypo we get low stomach acid which means we cannot absorb vitamins well from our food, regardless of a great diet. For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL levels of vitamins.
Have you recently or could you ask your GP to test levels of ferritin, folate, B12 & D3? Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...
There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
Have you also had thyroid antibodies tested? NHS will test TPO type but privately you can also test Tg type.
Hi I think I have filled out most of my information now, I have had my vitamins tested I have attached pictures. I had my test done at 9.30am I’m thinking of doing a private thyroid test online as this is all new to me, thanks so much for your reply
Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both vit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150. Most people need a minimum of 3,000iu per day.grassrootshealth.net/projec...
Your t4 is pretty low but your tsh is only somewhat elevated. Perhaps of more relevance is whether you have hypothyroidism symptoms and did they worsen when you stopped thyroid meds?
work on improving low vitamin levels for 2-3 months and then get FULL thyroid testing including thyroid antibodies
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
