High antibodies

Hi,

I am going for a Frozen embyro transfer and my thryoid antibodies are high. Over 500. I have read about LDN being helpful in getting down antibody levels. I am 46 and I am wondering if it's worth taking LDN or should I just go ahead with the transfer?

You were taking NDT

NDT can raise antibodies higher in some people

Conclusion: There is a strong association between the presence of thyroid autoantibodies and poor IVF outcome. The prednisolone co-treatment may improve the clinical pregnancy rate and reduce the miscarriage rate after IVF in women affected by thyroid autoimmunity.

Being gluten free might help. It does for a lot of people re antibodies.

LDN may be helpful in the long term but it takes 3 months to reach the full dose of 4.5mcg. It’s a very slow progress. Probably too slow for you to benefit your present situation.

I have no knowledge about your specific situation but there is a LDN forum on Healthunlocked with administrators who could probably give you a more informed answer

. I use LDNsuccessfully, clinic158.com is my source. You can self refer for an appointment with a prescriber.

Cait23,

Because of the immune changes that take place during pregnancy there is much research showing elevated thyroid antibodies to reduce the chances of conception or a successful pregnancy outcome.

If all other methods to reduce the heightened immune system (thyroid antibodies) have been unsuccessful and you have decided to start LDN, as I understand it , it is better to start the LDN before conception that during the pregnancy.

Are you still medicating NDT?
