I came across this video yesterday which I found very interesting and as a result, I now have a much better and less confused understanding of the subject.
All About Iron_Ferritin w The Iron Protocol expert Caitlyn Hartigan
thanks for sharing Benos123 ita quite long at 1hr 27mins! I’ll listen to it in the car I think. I have IDWA and the snippets I heard skipping through ring true for me. I googled Caitlin Hartigan and she seems to have a big social media presence for her Iron Protocol but I don’t see any medical qualifications so as always we need to get a full iron panel run and advice from a GP before supplementing iron/heme etc.
Thanks for the reply and whilst I agree it's a long haul I do believe it's worth it.
I had decided to split it into three sessions and after the first 30 minutes or so I had got more understanding of my "long time" issues than from the last 30 years of dealing with medically qualified BLUFFERS dressed up as GP's, Endos & Haemos.
What I like about Caitlin is that and whilst she's very upfront about not having any formal medical training or qualifications, she has something much better and which is the in-depth knowledge, experience and enthusiasm as a patient and which is also very valued on this Forum.
According to an online bio, the interviewer Dr Amie Hornaman (aka The Thyroid Fixer) is a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition as well as being a leading Functional Medicine expert in thyroid conditions, hormonal dysfunction and weight issues and what appealed to me was how they were able to link low ferritin with hypothyroidism. and which is another of my issues!.
In summary, both parties never flinched from or hesitated on any of the subjects discussed and the value of the video format is that one can look into the whites of their eyes so to speak, and come to one's own conclusion as to whether they are truthful or not!
