Randox home arm blood testing device

I saw a post recently (but could have been an older post) on a device which attaches to the arm for home blood testing rather than the usual finger-prick. I'm pretty sure it's Randox who supply it. If anyone knows the name of this device would you please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jamima,

Yes it was Randox. I remember being interested as I don't get on well with the finger prick tests. They're called Tasso collection kit/device. Though I think they're only available as an option on the hormone tests.

It seems they can be bought here;

Thank you Hedgeree, yes they seem to be only available for sex hormone testing which is what I want. I’m not too bothered about finger prick but MMH’s lancets are pretty vicious, still got pain in a fingertip a few weeks down the line. The Tasso is also much more economical if you factor in test and blood draw for competitor’s products.

Hi Jamima,

do you know if the Tasso devices are multi use or are they single use only?

Tasso is single use. It's basically a lancet inside a device that you attach to your arm. It makes a tiny incision and blood drips from the incision into the vial. Cannot be re-used, so a lot of plastic waste compared to fingertip lancet only. But much easier, avoiding the fingerprick pain and hit and miss blood dripping from finger into tiny vials.

Thanks Red apple,

Yes I wasn't sure.

Tbf there’s a lot of plastic waste when you go to a nurse for a blood draw, several plastic packages end up in the bin. I reckon it’s less with this or at least even.

Yes I had to stop attempting the finger prick tests as the pain and trauma around using them just got too much. I know pay extra with a local pharmacist he takes my blood for me.

I’ve used other lancets without the same outcome so I’m now very wary with MMH lancets.
