Started T3

Delighted to say that the consultant endo agreed to a 6 month trial of T3. Even better can get it on the NHS where I am. 2 weeks in & I am starting to feel the benefit.

I am taking 5mcg twice a day - when I get up & approximately 12 hours later (about 8.30pm). It doesn't seem to be affecting my sleep & just wondered what other people's experiences are with the timings.

Onwards & upwards :-)

Excellent news 🤗 it's all very personal so you just need to experiment and make notes, I ended up just on a single dose 4-6am works best for me, some like a bedtime dose which aids sleep and for others it keeps them awake 🤷‍♀️ It seems to depend how quickly your body absorbs and circulates it which can be effected by cortisol levels

Good to read - onwards and upwards :

Maybe leave some positive feedback on the Thyroid UK recommended list of endocrinologists and thyroid specialists - if appropriate -

That’s very pleasing to read. Well done. As others say it’s all very personal on what to take and when. I take my T3 5mcg at 7.30am then my second t3 5mcg dose at 3pm. I also split my levothyroxine dose into two doses. I have tried taking t3 in the evening but it keeps me awake. For me t3 gives me a real energy boost. I have Hashimotos and a poor converter t4 to t3. I get my t3 off the NHS in my area of Cheshire. What area are you in please?

We're in the same boat - Hashimoto's with poor conversion. I'm in Lincolnshire.

Hi McPammy, I like your dosing and I'm wondering if you split your Levo at the same times you take your T3? Thank you!

you are lucky to get T3 on NHS in my area they do not subscribe it and I have to pay for it, but it has certainly helped me.

well done on getting prescribed

I still find it best to split my T3 ….20mcg in total per day ….cutting 20mcg roughly into 1/4’s

Taking 5mcg 6am, 11am, 5pm and 11pm

Levo at 11pm

Prescription on NHS too

I did as you are for a few months and then tried 10mcg T3 with my Levo at 6am and that worked a treat too. Depends on which T3 for me I think. 🥳

Will bear that in mind, thanks. See how I go.
