I was checking my medical records the other day and saw I've been recalled for a hypo review next April. I dont even remember having one this year.
Now I dont care if I never have one ever again, I can do without ill informed GP's meddling with things they dont understand, but I was curious about how far away it was and also how they plucked that date out of the ether? Anyone else had this?

is April near your birthday ?..... my surgery have been moving annual reviews (for all sorts of long term conditions , not just thyroid) to coincide with Date of Birth.
To my knowledge, GP surgeries still get 'brownie points', e.g. extra money, if they monitor chronic conditions such as thyroid disease, diabetes, high cholesterol etc.
I am getting a reminder once a year to book a blood test (reminder was in August and my birthday is in February), but as they only do TSH and T4, I booked my own and sent them the results with a note that no changes are required. However, even though I sent them the T3 results, they did not appear in my medical notes, just TSH and T4 🙄. At least they have not contacted me to demand any changes (on T4 only, TSH is suppressed, T4 at top of range and T3 around 75% through range - only way I feel good).
Yes I think asthma for example is a nice little earner. I have mild asthma too, well controlled. After decades of not being reviewed I had an exacerbation of asthma earlier this year and needed emergency treatment.
Now my GP surgery cant wait to get me in. I've politely dissented, I'm not interested in being a cash cow. The stuff I want help with though, funnily enough, they drag their heels over. But then chronic migraine probably doesnt get them any points 😒
You're fortunate your suppressed TSH doesnt cause your GP a panic attack and an immediate reduction of Levo 😄. Its all they seem interested in. The fact you feel good on it is by the by, according to the NHS.
Well, I have listened to them once, reduced my levo by 12.5mcg only (not the 25mcg they insisted on) and it made me sick as a dog. Needless to say the TSH never budged, the whole episode just left me ill for months and all the symptoms resolved, once I was on my original dose for a couple of weeks. Go figure! Never again, now I just tell them what's what and if they don't like it, they can bloody well lump it! 😂
Good for you 👍you have to live in your body, not the TSH obsessed doctors. I feel much the same, I'll sign a disclaimer saying I accept any risks if they get prissy lol.
