Just received my results, doc. wants to reduce my levo from 75 to sixty something.

Free T3: 5. 71 pmol/1 (3.65 - 6. 8)

Free T4: 19. 00 pmol/1 (12. 2 - 22.0)

TSH: 0. 01 (0. 27 - 4 .20) uIU/mL

Any imput appreciated, sent message not to touch my medication on any account but to address my ongoing problems, will wait and see what happens.

Thought they were doing full blood to check for any infection marker, seems not. Will be asking why not.

Update: seeing a Gp late afternoon. I really would like a view on the T3 result, will say we needed other thyroid test included as these are not very helpful. any comments?

Request they test vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin

Plus cholesterol BEFORE you would even consider changing dose of levothyroxine

was thyroid test early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Which brand of levothyroxine are you taking

Exactly what vitamin supplements

Mercury Pharma - same for years. FolateC, C, selenium, D3 + MK2, B,complex, C, Magnesium, Zinc and copper (twice a week) Cannot remember any others right now. Strange the way a slot was available and a choice of doctor. Only part timers up here now and not enough of them. Never see the same one twice, dressesd for ease of removal and I am freezing. The temp has dropped like a lead weight.

Free T4 (fT4) 19 pmol/L (12.2 - 22) 69.4%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.71 pmol/L (3.65 - 6.8) 65.4%

Ft4 and Ft3 are not anywhere near top of range

Have these guidelines ready to quote

If GP says " I have to reduce your dose because the guidelines say i can't let you have a below range TSH" .....

The first paragraph in the NICE (NHS) Thyroid Disease, Assessment and Management guidelines says :

nice.org.uk/guidance/ng145

"Your responsibility

The recommendations in this guideline represent the view of NICE, arrived at after careful consideration of the evidence available. When exercising their judgement, professionals and practitioners are expected to take this guideline fully into account, alongside the individual needs, preferences and values of their patients or the people using their service. It is not mandatory to apply the recommendations, and the guideline does not override the responsibility to make decisions appropriate to the circumstances of the individual, in consultation with them and their families and carers or guardian. "

how much do you weigh in kilo

Some people need a bit less than guidelines, some a bit more

Weight just under 81/2 stone or just under 53 -55 kilograms. Realised when I got home the test they were relying on were done way back in May. Think I will get some tests done, finger prick no good for me, some how the blood sample does not stay good, happened twice so dracula draw needed. Will look them up later today and organise. Did not expect a reply slow dragon, my problems are minor compared to so many others on here but did appreciate it, head a bit foggy which is something brings back not so good memories!

You are a small person but by weight your estimated dose would be around 88mcgs.
