The Quality Outcomes Framework does sometimes appear to be payment for prescribing statins, or gets described as such, but the actual wording is somewhat more nuanced than that. And it specifically recognises that not everyone should be on statins including patient saying no: or where a statin is declined or clinically unsuitable

I wouldn't even take Metformin when I became T2D. I knew it was about my varying health issues - which I had to 'fix' - and finally did. Sometimes we have the solution within.
