Many of us adjust the timing of what we take for testing. My question concerns combination therapy with T3 taken in two doses. Let's say the day before testing is Monday and assume the blood draw takes place Tuesday at 8 am. Easy enough to take Levo at 8 am Monday. Suppose one usually takes T3 in the early morning and again in the early afternoon.
In order to take T3 8 hours before the 8 am blood draw, it would be taken at midnight. Do people continue their usual practice, taking morning and afternoon dose the day before and then the first dose of the testing day 8+ hours before? Or do people adjust the timing so that they take their 2nd dose of the day before testing much later, 8+ hours before the test? (and then nothing 'til after the blood draw, of course.)
If, for example, one were to take T3 at 6 am, 2 pm, and then again at midnight, then that would be 3 doses within a 24-hour period even though the person usually takes 2 doses per day. On the other hand, the new day begins at midnight, so it could be argued that 2 doses were taken the day before the test and the first dose on the day of the test has been adjusted so it's 8 hours before the blood draw.
This may be sounding like 'if two trains leave the station...' so hopefully this will make it more clear:
Scenario 1:
Monday: 6 am: T3 8 am: T4 2 pm: T3 Midnight: T3
Tuesday: 8 am phlebotomy
Scenario 2:
Monday: 6-8 am: T3 8 am: T4 Midnight: T3
Tuesday: 8 am phlebotomy
In the second scenario, timing of first dose of T3 is flexible, as it is the only T3 taken until midnight.
Just curious how people who don't usually take T3 eight hours before a morning blood draw adjust the timing of their dose.
