Delayed Alerts

For a few days now, at least, alerts seem to have been delayed.

Just caught one - I saw the alert notification appear, checked it, and it was for a reply to me that had been made over nine hours ago.

This means that we need to check for ourselves - which we can try for a limited number of recent contributions.

And be patient when we are waiting for replies or acknowledgement of replies.

It's been like that for me for months, now. So that I automatically check them when I log on. Which is nothing to what happened yesterday!!! That was really weird. I replied to someone, posted it, went back to correct something, and when I reposted, all that showed up was the edit. Damn! I thought, I'll come back to it later.

Went onto the next post, and there was my response to the last post, minus edit. Copied and deleted, when back to the first post, tried to paste my reply, same thing happened. And my reply to this one post showed up in all the posts I opened! Deleted it all and gave up. Never did reply to that first post. But everything seems to be back in order, today.
