I am trying to get life insurance today when i was going though health questions, I was asked about thyroid i told them 2002 i had it removed due to goietre multi nodel abnormal cells. They told me they wouldn't be able to offer me insurance. Has anybody eles had thus problem

I have been refused too. I have hyper nodule and take carbimazole. I think it because they have certain boxes to tick & the algorithm isn't set up for it. I was told to go to specialist broker.. which is on my to do list.

How rediculous. Look for a policy that doen't need in detail medical questions.

Have you tried Staysure ? My husband has had cancer, I have UAT and we have a yearly policy with them, never had any problems.

that’s so ridiculous. It’s the algorithms that they use not the person - I’ve had many an argument. Try one of the ones that does their own personalised screening - there’s a list on the assoc British insurers or ring the ABI

A word of caution. Avoid Staysure and Avanti and any company underwritten by Ergo Travel Insurance Ltd. I had a bad experience with Staysure. I had the misfortune to become very ill in the Far East. I had to pay the £8000 medical bill and it took over 4 months to be reimbursed.

Staysure pass the buck to Ergo Travel who pass the buck to Davies Group Ltd. Very difficult to deal with,

It is entirely understandable but PLEASE can we avoid being an insurance comparison and consumer site?
