Have been looking at my travel insurance policy for travel in Europe, but after a phone call have been told I am not covered due to hypothyroidism being a pre existing condition.
Has anyone had a good experience with any insurance company to include hypothyroidism?
Thanks for any help

If you have a Co-op or Barclays Bank account they both do travel packs. I took mine out with Barclays for an annual policy which can also cover things like car breakdown too if you want it. £12.50 a month and they covered all my pre-existing conditions including Thyroid.
Sorry, but why would hypothyroidism exclude you? It´s not like you are likely to require hospitalisation for months or expensive surgery or experimental treatment. And it is not considered a degenerative disease. According to most doctors, it´s one of the easiest conditions to manage and treatment is inexpensive. I wonder if your insurance company really knows what hypothyroidism is?
That's strange, they usually accept it. They may technically exclude claims relating to hypothyroidism but in practice that just doesn't happen. I would ask for written advice.
It's been about 14 years since I've bought travel insurance but hypothyroidism was never an issue and I used a few different companies and had insurance annually for many years. I always declared it but there was never a problem. I'd ring again and ask why it's excluded, if necessary go higher than the agent who takes your call.
Hi I've used this company several times just put in your pre existing health conditions and you will get several quotes, different levels of cover. I found it very competitive.
