I have the information thanks - was seeking comment from members ...
Oh sorry. Well it's well worth the money and there are no catches that I've experienced in the last 20 years. I've had help with physio when I've had my knee replacements.
A friend of mine that I recommended to join. Her husband went through a very bad time with bladder problems and ended up having sepsis. Eventually (having waited a few months and lots of antibiotics) he got to see a consultant who diagnosed prostrate problems. However things didn't improve and after many months still getting infections and wearing a catheter and waiting for the op, in desperation phoned Beneden. They gave him an appointment and scan. Told him yes he did have prostate problems but also a bladder stone, hence the re-accurring infections, then they did the operation in one of their own hospitals (as his hospital still hadn't given him an operation date) now he is fine. All done privately for £10.00 per month. I can't speak highly enough of them, they are brilliant. And goodness knows what that operation would have cost.
I wish you well Marz and keep me posted if they do help you.
Best wishes for your health and happiness Pam
Good morning, I've also been with Benenden for almost thirty years as was my late husband. I was waiting for surgery for cataracts which my local hospital had a waiting list of over 6 months. One call to Benenden and I was in their private hospital, assessed and operated on within a week. I was a bus driver at the time so I really couldn't wait 6 months. My husband had major hip surgery and physio at their hospital. They really are very good. Well worth the money.
Sorry for highjacking your post but would be interested in this insurance and any details you could send me thanks
Hi Gettingoldnow. Beneden is a Health Insurance which is a cost of £10.25 per month.
It works by you going to the Drs and they say you need a scan or a small op. If the waiting time on the NHS is over a certain amount of weeks often Beneden will either invite you to one of their hospitals if it is fairly close to you, or will arrange for you to have the tests at a Bupa hospital upto a certain limit (which they will tell the limit before hand). They then pay the bill on your behalf.
You also have access to a dr. 365 days a year. And mental health all free of charge this is included in your membership.
They are always trying to help you and will spend time with you when you ring them.
I think it is worth every penny and have had excellent service and help over the years.
I wish you good luck and health and happiness.
Please contact if I can help further. Pam
