Hello
I’m two years post TT. I have having sleep problems . I wake up as if I haven’t slept. I’m now on iron pills and get b12 every 3 months.
Recently had my thyroid bloods and all in range.
Any help as to why I don’t feel refreshed when I wake up.

Hello Roma :
Can you please share these latest blood test results and ranges with forum members please - they may well be ' all in range ' but they need to optimal within the ranges for you -
It reads as though you might not be converting/utilising the thyroid hormone well since you are not sleeping well and having to supplement iron and B12 so obviously your body is under stress and not able to function well, as it should.
What dose and thyroid hormone replacement are you taking ?
I had thyroid cancer . I’m on 125mg eltroxin , was in 150 mg and over medicated
B12 is not retested now as I’m on injections for life . In January it was 151 (200-883)
Serum ferritin 46 (15-200)
Serum folate4.9 (3.1-20)
TSH
Result Ref. Range (Units)
* 0.01. 0.35 - 5.00 mU/L (mU/L)
Free T4
15.2. 9.0 - 21.0 pmol/L (pmol/L)
T3 1.7 (0.9-2.5)
Vitamin d was 66 last summer and they only test it once in 365 days
Hi Roma,
Your blood results indicate some room to optimize.
In your previous post you got excellent replies:

Many on this board choose Medichecks or similar when the NHS won’t test for things you need to monitor. But a complete updated picture of your thyroid, ferritin/iron and key vitamins are essential to decide next steps, optimize thyroid hormones and vitamins, which will help likely the biggest contributor to your sleep issues.
Thank you - yes I looked after i had replied as thought you were new to the forum ;
Well I imagine your B12 will take time to build up - surprised it will not be measured ??
I now aim for active B12 to be around 125 ( serum B12 500++) with vitamin D at around 125 and ferritin at around 100.
Everywhere I researched when my ferritin was at 22 suggested that no thyroid hormone replacement worked well until ferritin is at least over 70 : I know now that I need mine close to 100 rather than 70 - for optimal conversion of my thyroid hormone replacement.
We generally feel best when our T4 is in the top quadrant of its range with the T3 tracking just behind at around 60/70% through its range.
Currently your T4 is at around 52% with your T3 at around 50% - so both much too low :
With your TSH at 0.01 - I'm guessing your doctor is reluctant to increase your T4 ?
Without a thyroid the TSH is a very unreliable measure of anything and you must be dosed and monitored on your T3 and T4 readings and both are too low to work well -
your body is struggling to extract key nutrients through food and with non optimal ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D these will be compromising your health further.
I'm afraid we do need to take back control of our health - where we can - and vitamins and minerals can be self managed - I now run my own blood tests and monitor my own vitamins and minerals and feel much better for looking after myself.
