Your TSH is over 2 and most people feel well when their TSH is at or just under 1.
With raised cholesterol your GP should first be treating your hypothyroidism before considering statins.
TSH is not the only indicator of thyroid hormones. To get a better picture you need to see TSH, FT4 & FT3.
How are your vitamin levels - ferritin, folate, B12 & D3?
We need OPTIMAL levels of key vitamins for our thyroid hormone to work well.
Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...
There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
If your cholesterol is high, then your FT3 is probably low. And that would cause the TSH to rise.
Possible that for some reason your conversion has declined. But you need full thyroid testing to know what's going on:
TSH
FT4
FT3
TPO antibodies
Tg antbodies (if you don't know if you have Hashi's)
vit D
vit B12
folate
ferritin
If you're doctor won't test them all - and in general they're only interested in testing cholesterol without even knowing the connection! - perhaps you could get private testing.
Bigsi what brand of levothyroxine do you take? Do you always receive the same brand? Fillers in the tablets can affect absorption and that might explain your rising TSH. Do you take your levo at same time of day, just with water and wait an hour before drinking tea/coffee or eating food?
