High ALT

Hi,

Has anyone in the group experienced a high ALT from Levothyroxine or liothyronine or from being hypo or hyper. Thanks

My ALT was normal when I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism, but I’ve been on medication for two years now and still trying to find the right dose and my last two bloods tests showed ALt at 50 and then 70.

Thanks

Thanks.

Do you take Tudca, glutathione, b complex, vitamin D with K and iron.

I already take the last 3, adding 2 more supplements worries me but if that’s what I have to do then will try it.

I also take levothyroxine and liothyronine and split the T3 as 4 times a day.

I’m not in peri menopause yet I don’t think.

Does b12 help liver or do we need injections for that? Thanks

B12 important for liver health no need to inject if you absorb sublingual or tablets, Tudca helps bile production and digestion but also good for liver and L-glutathione is all about detoxification... yes I take them all and my liver is much happier since adding the first two

I had a test which showed low glutathione but you could just try one or the other?

My b12 is 1100 from oral but I don’t know if it’s getting in to the cells as I have Hashimoto’s. Do you have Hashimoto’s too?

That's a good level, you'd get a good idea from your full blood count and red blood cell info.... yes I've got hashi's

When I was first diagnosed before meds b12 was 379 and 320 and MCH was high but with supplements by mouth both of those improved.

You sound just like me, B12 is getting where it needs to then 🤗

I had symptoms since 2004, but only medicated early 2022. TSH only got to 4.90 and 6.59 so I think it’s sluggish. I have the dio2 homozygous and low cortisol stage 2 but that has improved on blood cortisol from 196 to 297 with T3. The struggle is real but keep trying to improve back to a good quality of life. I am dairy and gluten free. Looking back I was really struggling with lactose. Lactose is in my thyroid meds so maybe at some point I could change. Do you have lactose free meds?

You sound even more like me!!

Yes, definitely worth trying lactose free, I take Vencamil but it only comes in 100mcg at the moment with talk of other doses to come this year the only other option is Teva which some love and some hate 😕

I'm ok with gluten except barley and can't do dairy, nightshades and high histamine foods
