I am on 75mg of Levothyroxine and have also been taking Sertraline. This pushed my TSH levels open. Since stopping the Sertraline my levels have dropped but now I’m getting more hot flushes and aching joints and restless legs.
My doctor had suggested HRT patches but I’m worried that these may lead to even more weight gain as I’m struggling with the extra pounds as it is .
Does anyone have experience good or bad of HRT and Levothyroxine they could share with me to help me make a decision
Thanks all

Regarding HRT, it may be useful to have a look at Dr Louise Newson’s free Balance App, as I find it really useful for comparing HRT medications & having up to date research articles. There is also an ability to post questions.
hi, I’m am on 75 mg levothyroxine for 3 years now and started on Evie 50 patches about 10 months ago, they have helped with the brain fog, and helped with the lack of sleep I was getting, I haven’t gained much weight while being on them , just what you would expect from indulging from Xmas, I take amitriptyline 25mg for my restless legs to , hope this helps, I would definitely give them a go
It’s early days for me, but I’ve found the introduction of HRT whilst on Levo overwhelmingly positive. The initial benefits I felt at first have waned somewhat - perhaps I’ll trial a slightly higher dose shortly - but I am sleeping so much better and feel less foggy headed. I chose the gel rather than patches so that any dose adjustments can be made easily without the need for further prescription. I avoided it for some time despite doctors’ advice, fearful of more weight gain and further problems with fluid retention but now concede I wish I’d started it years ago!
I've been on levothyroxine 100/125 and on various HRT patches for 25 years now and have not had any issues. The fly in the ointment is the b12 shots. Just can't get those levels right.
I’ve been on HRT patches for years due to surgical menopause and had no issues with weight gain. I find it’s getting the thyroid hormones correct that causes most issues with weight.
Hi Gyp, I'm not answering your question but do have one for you, do you think you could have low B12, I think the symptoms you describe are common with low B12?
