Feeling a lot better now. On 100 meds (yes i did rush to raise them). Neck still swollen but i can finally walk my dog on the flat. The fresh air is doing wonders already. My poor daughter has waited to go shopping since October and we finally went!! Thanks for everyones kind help. I thought i would wait until my next meds adjustment has kicked in (April) and get all my vitamin levels checked. So i expect i will need some more of your kind advice. Also looking to test the kids - but struggling to find a childrens clinic without a docters referral.

Blue Horizon tests people under 18, but obviously it has to be paid for.

You could say to your doctor :

1) My family has a history of thyroid disease/hypothyroidism/hyperthyroidism/nutrient deficiency/anaemia.

2) I want to get a base line set of results for each of my children so that it will be available if they show signs of thyroid disease or nutrient deficiencies in years to come.

Whether this will convince a doctor of anything, I don't know. But one can only hope.
