OK everyone β€οΈas some members will know I've been struggling with thyroid medication since TT in 2019, I have ulcerative colitis and are lactose intolorent, my endo along with gp have been playing thyroid medication tennis with me since 2019.I had enough on last endo appointment Dec 27th when she AGAIN put me on teva T4 knowing I'm intolorent to it, gp is calling me on the 4th of March to discuss this,π knowing I've not taken any thyroid medication since January 31st due to gastric issues .
One thing about my surgery.... You get a good laugh off them... ππππ Today I received a letter saying:
Dear Ms w[name redacted] our records show that you may be at an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. You may be eligible for a tablet to reduce this risk.. (no doubt a statin...no thanks π‘) if you would like to consider this, please call reception after 2pm to arrange an appointment with the gp πππππ.
I'm actually thinking of making an appointment,π... ho you can find me a face to face appointment to shove statins down my throat, but no face to face to discuss my lack thyroid medication π‘
I'd also like to ask if not taking any thyroid medication when I don't actually have a thyroid would effect my heart even more!!! π‘π‘π‘π‘
Well that was a good laugh today ππππππ
Well They do say laughter is the best medicine, maby my surgery is going for that approach ππππππ

Unfortunately I've had intolorences to others to, but there are only a few thyroid medications that don't contain lactose, but they unfortunately do contain other fillers that effect meπ’
But this endo I was under for the last number of years as totally missed the point, she just keeps rolling out the teva when the other T4, T3s don't work.
She did me a favor by writing to my gp saying she doesn't want me as a patient anymore..... Great I'm pleased not to have her as my endocrinologist anymore π

I think that's a good idea - you could tell them that you are also concerned about cardio risks so a face to face appointment would be wonderful! You can then (metaphorically speaking) "Hit them with your Rhythm Stick".
Yep... Think that is the way to go Blissfulπ... I've tried for weeks to get a face to face appointment at my surgery, and all they have come up with is a phone call... As I said I've not taken any thyroid medication since January 31st.... Now you'd think any gp worth his or her salt would be very concerned that their patient1) is no longer taking there thyroid medication ( because of gastric /intolorent issues)
2) has not had any thyroid bloods taken to check her levels
3) not had a check up by the gp on her heart or anything else
4) were informed by gp receptionist from gp herself, that I'm OK not taking my thyroid medication, eventho I don't actually have a thyroid
