Update on my LTC at my surgery 🙄

Well as I posted yesterday I attended my LTC appointment with certain bloods being refused 🙄

Today at 9.35 I received a message from my surgery

A phone appointment as be made for you on January 29 around 11.30 , to discuss your recent bloods taking on Jan 21st.

The message as a reply box:

I have written:

" I would like a face to face appointment to discuss my latest blood results as these relate to my ongoing conditions, and would like to discuss my blood work done in September and my ongoing symptoms in relation to primary hyperparathyroidism "

Now I wonder if this will be granted?

I'm sure the government said GPS were to go back to face to face appointment where necessary 🤷‍♀️

And I'm sure I will not be able to get the printout on the results until I've spoken to the gp😡

Not happy with that, as I like to be armed with my results before I speak to a GP, the amount of mistakes they make on blood levels being OK is disgusting 😡

Have you looked on the nhs app Birkie? They should show up there. You could try ringing reception and stating you requested a face to face appointment and would prefer that. You can but ask.

There was a link on the message to reply, I requested a face to face appointment, nothing back as yet🤷‍♀️

I've tried installing there app 3 times and it's locked me out everytime 😡

But I know I Will have no access to my recent bloods because I tried in September when my bloods were taken, I inquired 3 times and each time were told the GP as not signed them off yet because she wants to speak to you.

I managed to get the printout after I'd spoken to the GP, but really wanted them before I saw her , so I was in control and could see the report for myself she got 2 bloods wrong 😡 and totally missed my over range parathyroid hormone 🤦‍♀️

You need to tell reception you would like full access to your medical records. You will have to sign a form. It took me three tries but I now can see what doctors write and any test results and letters. It's really annoying when your excluded like this.

Thank you waveylines👍 I'm not trusting them to respond to my messages back requesting a face to face .If I hear nothing by Friday or Monday I will ring reception, I will also ask about full access to my medical records 👍

You may need to take photo ID in when you sign form for access to medical records

thanks slowdragon, I think I only have my passport with my photo , but I'm sure it's out of date now and I don't drive..wonder what they would except ??

I had just been in to see the GP and came out and asked for my blood results from a few weeks before. The receptionist said she needed to see a photo of me, even though I was standing in front of her. I took out my phone, took a photo and showed it to her. Thats fine she said, and went to print the results.

The whole of the surgery were either giggling or sitting with their mouths open. You could not make it up!

I tell you the world as gone mad with these stupid rules 😡

I know that staff are only doing there jobs, and are tied by restrictions by the nhs but some are just plain stupid ,I'm glad you were able to think on your feet, well done you 👍

And promptly got a ticking off 😄 brings to mind that old saying

" ITS MORE THAN MY JOBS WORTH"...🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

My passport was about 20 years out of date, I had a paper licence then, and the only thing with a photo on was my pass for the National Library of Wales. That was not on her list...

Yeah I have nothing but my passport with my photo on, but I really thought it was out of date...I dug it out today it's actually got 2 years left on it👍So when I ask for access to my medical records I can use my passport, mind you I look nothing like the picture on my passport😂

Now I look like death warmed up😂

😂😂😂 I get the hair bit, I'm practically bold on top and learning to do a comb over 😂 got a friends wedding in Feb I'm only going if I feel able to, but it's my hair that's giving me nightmares 🤯 haven't a clue what to do with it, maby just shave what little I have off👩‍🦲

This thing about not being able to see your results until GP has seen them (and discussed them with you if they wish ) is widespread. It’s really annoying and puts the patient on the back foot. I think next time this happens to me I’ll insist I also have time to look at the results before discussing them. Why should the GP have this advantage but deny the same to the patient?

Agree, because in my experience my GP missed some blood tests saying how there OK, when they were clearly out of range.

For instance she banged on about my thyroid bloods but totally missed my parathyroid bloods which were out of range, but of course I didn't get to see that info until I got the printout after the GP gaslit me about them.

And then I had to start to try to get another appointment to discuss the blood she missed, which took weeks😡

I have many questions I would like to ask my GP pertaining to my recent bloods, which must have some anomalies , as I never get any GP calling me back if my bloods are ok🤷‍♀️

So I've to listen to her over a phone call not knowing what my bloods actually are, and trying to ask questions about the ones that have come back suspect is virtually impossible because they just don't have the time to discuss it😡

It's always the same answer....we'll check you bloods in 6wks time🤦‍♀️

Not addressing the bloods that are already suspect 😡

Sorry for the rant but it grinds my gears...I requested a face to face when I received the message, I received a reply this afternoon it will only be a phone appointment 😡

What happened to the government saying doctors should do more face to face appointment now🤷‍♀️

More like 2 faced...😡
