Low DHEA Results and possible low cortisol

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows anything about low dhea/ cortisol and can shine some light on my results? They were done by blood draw but I have ordered the saliva cortisol test.

DHEA Sulphate X 0.8 umol/L

Please note change of reference range 23 Oct 2022 (Range: 1.65 - 9.15)

Cortisol 261.0 nmol/L (Range: 133 - 537)

I'd get your saliva results first as these will give you your free levels, I've just received my results and it shows that I've improved my DHEA level but cortisol still bottom of range (though have actually made it into range this time 😊).... so either start taking the cortisone again or try pregnenolone 🤷‍♀️

Thanks - have never taken cortisone - this is the first time ive had DHEA tested - how did you improve your DHEA?

I take 10mg micronized 😬 seems to have done the trick with the DHEA 😁

Can I ask if you were prescribed that or did you buy it yourself? I can never get to see GP and endocrinologist wouldnt be interested.

I read up about it and bought some from iHerb it's only available here via private prescriptions as it is supposedly prohibited

Hi I've just ordered pregnenolone from iherb, couldn't get 10mg so ordered 25 mg to cut in half. My cortisol has been 9/ and 100,but synacthen normal so discharged . Can you take this long term and is it synthetic?

You've got me there! I'd assume synthetic as they state vegan so can't be from a direct source?

Thanks can I ask has it really helped you ? Was given the other one once for 10 days by GP prednisolone I think,but they won't prescribe for long.

The DHEA has certainly helped but early days with pregnenolone... I've no experience of prednisolone but looked it up the other day and it is 4 x the strength of hydrocortisone
