hi I’ve just had my bloods done today and I’ve got the results, I just wondered if this is right that the laboratory said I don’t need another blood test for a year!! I was diagnosed in June 2023 and in dec blood test my Tsh and t4 took a dive down to wrong side, now today results are good but not optimal yet is it right that the docs said I don’t need to be tested for a year??

thyroid and others blood results need help with what I need to do?
Seems to be the usual fob off, in range that'll do!
Like you say your TSH is still a bit high and fT4 a bit low
TSH 1.52 mIU/L (0.2 - 4.5) 30.7%
Free T4 (fT4) 11.9 pmol/L (7 - 17) 49.0%
How are you feeling on this dose?
If I were you and you have some wiggle room I'd add another 12.5mcg either daily or alternate days to your current 100mcg and grab yourself a private test which also covers fT3 to see what is really going on in 8 weeks time
GP's don't seem to understand the importance of fine tuning the dose and tend to go in 25mcg jumps up of down 🙄
I find if I get my scripts filled quickly it easily gives me enough to add the extra 100mcg a week I need without the hassle of talking to a GP or Endo 🤗
hi yeah I feel good on this dose, hardly any symptoms apart from hives and the odd feel of cold and hair loss due to low iron,
I really need to get my t3 tested and antibody’s to see if these have gone down,
I take 4x 25mg tablets so can’t take another 12.5mg on top!!
I can ask for an does increase as immune still experiencing symptoms,
Doctors have no idea about optimal ranges at all
I take 4x 25mg tablets so can’t take another 12.5mg on top!!
Why not? 25mcg ideal for splitting... why are you taking 4 x 25mcg which brand? This means you are getting a lot more excipients than if you were to take 1 x 100mcg... could be causing the hives?
When were folate, B12, vitamin D and ferritin last tested
You look like you easily have room to increase dose Levo to 112.5mcg daily
GPs only tend to test if there has been a change of dose, otherwise deem it OK to leave it a year. Even my Endo thought year old results were good enough, then said I was "sub clinical" even though my thyroid went west 17 years ago. My GP has never actually called me for a blood test apart from the diabetic one - I dont have diabetes. There must be logic there somewhere...
