Hi again I have been lucky to get an earlier blood test 9am as advised.During the last year I have had two private full panel tests, one Thyroid test on its own plus one GP bloods. This is not because I can afford it but not getting any where with my GP.They never listen to symptoms just numbers and ranges and as long as it says normal that’s fine.We know this is not normal for a lot of people and symptoms should always play a big part in getting to the bottom of the problem.Hopefully I can answers and wish everyone the same. Here are the following Thyroid results from the past year please let me know what you think.

*February 2023 Medichecks full blood panel*

TSH 2.95 range 0.27-4.2 Free T3 4 range 3.1-6.8 T4 14 range 12-22

*January 2024 Thyroid test only Medichecks*

TSH. 3.19 range 0.27-4.2 Free T3. 4.2 range 3.1-6.8. T4 14.3 range 12-22

*February 2024 Medichecks full blood panel*

TSH 4.76 range 0.27-4.2 Free T3 3.9 range 3.1-6.8 T4 13.6 range 12.22

Your most recent blood test result has above range TSH. You need to persuade your GP to do two blood tests about three months apart so that you get two over range results…..this should be enough to get you started on thyroxine.

It will be hard waiting a couple of months for the second test but you can keep a log of your symptoms and work on optimising your vitamins and maybe trial gluten free diet during this time.

Hi and thank you for reply I have had repeat blood tests done Monday so hopefully find out later in the week.My mom had a under active thyroid and was treated with thyroxine my thyroid test has gone from 2.95 a year ago to 4.76 now with the same range with Medichecks. My worry is the NHS is higher range and she may say it’s normal. Will see what the latest blood test shows and take it from there will let you know.
